Clay and Paper, Gallery of Art presents Lorraine Potocki – Pastel Paintings of Florida, Friday, June 14 – July 7, 2013. Lorraine will be showing several of her original pastel paintings depicting the Florida landscape. An opening reception will be held during the Dunedin Wine/Art Walk on Friday June 14, 2013 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Lorraine will be present to talk about her artwork during the reception.
Lorraine works with pastels to create her paintings because it allows her to capture the beauty of Florida’s beaches, landscapes, flora and fauna. Her ability to combine colors and create light draws the viewer in to look through and feel the movement and emotion in the scene. She hopes though her work to share the splendor of Florida’s natural landscape.
Lorraine has a BA degree in Fine Arts and Education from College of New Jersey. She is a member of the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay, the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and PAVA. She won the 2010 Clearwater Jazz Poster Contest and was featured on the cover of the September/October 2011 issue of Tampa Bay Magazine. She is a faculty member of the Dunedin Fine Art Center and the Life Enrichment Center in Tampa.
