Barbara’s most recent work is made from clay, a slab cut into shapes that create tiles. When reassembled as a mosaic in the final process they become a painting in clay. Each handmade tile is fired then glazed to depict the painting, then fired again. The tiles are then glued and grouted onto a table, mirror frame, garden art, wall piece or can be made to go directly on a wall like in a kitchen or bath. I also, combine my tile with other materials such as glass and aluminum to cerate whimsical outdoor artwork.

“I am fascinated with mosaics because Mosaics have been used to decorate homes and public spaces for millennia, for a good reason, they can withstand the ravages of time.”
