Clay and Paper Gallery of Art presents “Florida Feathers”
Oil Paintings by Deborah Cofer

Clay and Paper, Gallery of Art presents “Florida Feathers”, Friday, June 13 – August 3, 2014. “Florida Feathers” features new oil paintings depicting florida birds by Deborah Cofer. Deborah’s delightful personality and painting seems to be one and the same. Her birds are painted in her loose but not so loose painterly style that breaths so much life into each piece.
Deborah statement: “I love color and line! My goal in every piece is to try to capture life. I do this by detailed foundational study and then allowing life and energy to explode through lines and color. In every detail and every edge I desire to focus on the moving and breathing aspects of living things. I try to capture the moment. I am also fascinated by my surroundings. Living in a coastal community (Tarpon Springs) affords me limitless subject matter.”
An opening reception will be held during the Dunedin Wine/Art Walk for “Florida Feathers” Friday June 13, 2014 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Deborah will be present to talk about her artwork during the reception.

Deborah received her a BFA degree from East Carolina University and did graduate study at New Mexico State University. Honors she received: Cum Laude, Phi Kappa Phi (National Honor Society), Delta Phi Delta Scholarship (National Art Honor Society), selected for Formost Women of the Twentieth Century, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Women, Who’s Who in the World. She exhibited in the National Gallery of Modern Art, Lisbon Portugal; Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition (American Drawings); Nevada Museum of Art (Nevada Contemporary Exhibition); Sierra Nevada Museum of Art; Chrysler Museum of Art.
